USB flash tool for the E-01 module

The E-01 module is not very breadboard friendly. So we have a special E-01 USB flashing tool at the commons|lab. The module can be used to flash the E-01 with the ESPtool program or directly from the Arduino IDE.

Be careful to use the correct polarity! Insert the E-01 module according to the illustration on the right. The E-01 module must not stick out, but must sit entirely on top of the flash tool.

Entering the Bootloader Mode

Bootloader button on the bottom side of the USB flash tool

In order for the E-01 module to enter the bootloader mode, the button on the bottom side of the module needs to be pushed while being inserted into the USB port.

The E-01 module must be inserted so that the PCB of the E-01 module sits over the PCB of the flash tool.

Once the E-01 module has entered the bootloader mode, only the red power LED lights. The blue LED flickers once while inserting into the USB and remains off until the flashing process starts.
